Your Personal Reading Hub
LATR started as a passion project to help a friend who struggled with keeping track of online articles. He often bookmarked articles, only to forget about them later, never finding the time to read or revisit them. I wanted to create something intuitive, something that didn't just store links but made reading an intentional habit.
I began by asking friends about their reading habits and pain points. Many expressed frustration with the overwhelming number of articles they wanted to read but couldn't keep track of. I analyzed existing solutions that weren't free like Pocket and Instapaper to identify opportunities for improvement.
The design focused on creating a distraction-free reading environment with intuitive organization. I implemented features like reading time estimates, progress tracking, and customizable reading queues to help users manage their content more effectively.
LATR has helped users increase their article completion rate compared to traditional bookmarking. The focused reading environment and progress tracking have made it easier for users to build consistent reading habits.
